The biggest good thing about Dr. R. Yee is that he does not over treat for money. And he does cleaning himself. I have had over a dozen DDSs through the years and we have been with him mainly for his personal attention, conservative treatment and accessibility. Other than a little glitch several years ago with one of his referrals (who was an asshole butcher and greedy bustard, and Yee's friend), we have no complaints with him. Dr. Yee is very friendly and explained every procedure beforehand. The entire staff is exceptionally friendly as well. Felt welcomed as a new patient. Odd? Dr. Yee explained that while he didn't find any issues (cavities) he would have to look further at my xrays before determining if that was the final word, at which point he would then contact me. I thought that was a little odd, not that he was being thorough, but that he wasn't intending to give me a clean (or not) bill of heath while I was there. Not a negative per se, ... read more
Dentists are business people first, medical caregivers second. Dr. Yee has been as good as it comes because he does not overtreat and consult with patients. We have tried about half dozen dentists in SF and Dr. Yee is the most acceptable to us. He is very tuned in with latest tech, interested in education, and pleasant to be around. His staff was excellent tough under some changes. If you want a family dentists who'd treat you with respect and care, Dr. Yee is the one.
I still see him even though I'm 11/2 hours drive away because of his good services, very clean facility!
I had a horrible experience with this dentist. He did a crown for me and all he did was complain about how difficult it was for him to do. When I went back for a followup because I was having pain, he was poking around in the inflamed area. I was practically off the chair and still he was in there. I cried for hours after that because of the violation and disrespect of it all.
Does not refer patients outside his office when needed in a timely manner (does proceedure and charges himself, and when he finally refers you pay again to the next person). He does treatments when he should refer them to someone with better skills.
Dr. Yee is very thorough in explaining procedures and presenting options. Overall a comfortable experience. Wonderfully pleasant and helpful staff.
I started visting Dr.Yee about 4 years ago. I really liked him initially and he was very friendly and did a great job with my teeth. There was a year and half gap between my check ups and he really changed during that time and did not seem as friendly. I ended up needing a tooth pulled and he clucked his tongue at me and said that pregnant women don't care for the teeth as well and that's wehy i had to have by tooth pulled (I had just had my son and I did not have any cavities-just the one tooth that had to be pulled. Dr. Yee is very nice, friendly, and genuine -- totally down to earth and a great person. He took care of some gumline fillings on my side-front-lower teeth that are totally incredible! He's a true artisan, and takes pride in his awesome work! His staff is very nice and helpful. If you want real quality work done on your teeth, go see Dr. Yee. I'm referring all my friends.
