Dr Hammers was called to the Penrose Hospital ER to evaluate and treat my wife, who had a bad headache with nausea. After reviewing her scans, Dr Hammers, whom we had never met, performed emergency surgery to relieve pressure from large subdural hematomas on both sides of her brain. Dr Hammers and his team at Penrose saved her life and less than four days later my wife was home. We cannot say enough about Dr Hammers' professionalism and skill, as well as his caring and compassion. He is the best
Dr. Hammers in my opinion is a great doctor. He listens to what you have to say, he doesn't rush you through your appointment. Great quality care from a doctor who has you best interests in mind.
When you meet someone that is skilled at their profession it is very obvious, however when you meet someone that also carries a deep sense of humility, kindness, and true concern for their patient it is phenomenal. This is true of Dr Hammers. His ability to instill a sense of comforting confidence is unique.
I had back surgery( a herniated disc) March 2016 with Dr Hammers. I have referred him several times. He was caring, professional, thorough, and conservative, which I so appreciated. I did everything he ask for aftercare and therapy. I have never felt stronger. I am almost a year out now and I am very grateful to live life without the extreme amount of pain I was in.
One of the absolute best. Literally got me scheduled in for surgery within a week (although these were rare circumstances), was extremely nice and personable while also making sure I knew what to expect as well as making sure I had weighed all my options. Very glad he was my surgeon.
Dr. Hammers explained the problem area by showing us the MRI as well as a spinal replica. He was patient, caring, and explained in layman terms for easy understanding. Dr. Hammers frequently asked for and explained answers to any questions. He exhibited a calm, humorous, friendly demeanor. He recognized the immediate need to be seen, and delayed his hospital rounds to see us w/o an appointment. He prayed holding my husband's hand before surgery. He is a very skilled and blessed man of God.
Dr Hammers is an excellent surgeon and is very personable! He conveyed genuine care for me during my procedure!
Dr Hammers was very conscientious before and after surgery. His bedside manner was exceptional. Surgery was explained thoroughly and was successful.
Dr. Hammers is a skillful surgeon, & I now have NO pain! He never rushed me, answered all of my questions, (even when it took longer than the time allotted) and put me completely at ease. He offered prayer before surgery, was at my beside when I woke up, & talked with my husband after surgery. I appreciate that I have seen him on all follow up visits & not a P.A. His assistant, Jill, always got right back to me when I called. I cannot recommend him more! Skillful & bedside manner - awesome!!
