Ron Herman has an efficient team of fashion experts to take care of its Melrose Avenue store. However, don't be surprised if they ignore you completely. At Ron's, the staff follows a simple rule; let the customers wander through the store as much as they want to and ask for help only if required. And if you can't make up your mind about what would suit you best, simply ask for their guidance and you won't regret it. Customers are guided through the remarkable array of elegant designer clothing options for men and women. Find... read more

Not my favorite spot! – I don't know how many times I've been there and noone acknowleges that you are there unless you are a celebrity or a friend. I literally stood at the counter for about 9 minutes before one of the three employees noticed me.I was going to leave but I thought I would humor myself to see just how long it would take.
Suitable – I shop all the time in town and live by many cute boutiques but I do really like Fred Segal. I didn't think the selection was anything particularly special but it was cool and I will return. Cool vibe, too and the store is relatively spread out so you're not digging through racks and racks or bombarded. Was not at all impressed with the shoe section but loved that they had a separate place for buying travel stuff. Excellent, excellent parking - that alone is worth the visit.
I saw Sarah Jessica Parker here! – This is absolutly the best place to see celebrities in L.A. Every time I have gone there I have seen at least 2 celebrities. Some I have seen and met were Robin Williams, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Ozzy Osbourne. They also have a really great cafe.
nothing to brag about – too much attitude, SA's not helpful...they don't help you unless you look like a million bucks.
love fred segal – If you can only shop in one place when you're in L.A., come to Fred Segal. They always have the best, up to date clothing for any occasion, for any style. The Santa Monica store is better than the Melrose store, (although the Melrose one is more popular) and make sure you check out each boutique. Also, don't be intimidated by the salespeople. The shoppers may be snobs, but the the salespeople are really nice and helpful.
Which Fred Segal? – If you're talking about Melrose, they have a limited selection. If you're talking about Santa Monica, they have more - they both have unusual shoes that I like - the salespeople are a little snooty at Melrose.
The best one stop shop in LA! – Theme shops make up the entire compound. Anything in fashion can be found here although prices are a little high and sales are very very rare.
Decent style but it's no big deal – I've had mixed experiences here. One time at the Melrose location, I asked if they had a particular Theory pants in a size zero and the reaction from the sales person was that of a annoyed and bewildered look as if nobody wears that size. But at the Brentwood location, the girls were super sweet and friendly.
Where all good shoppers go when they die – Some people crave chocolate, for others it's ice cream, but I'm more partial to the goodies at Fred Segal's jean bar. I've only ever encountered friendly sales staff here. And the free alterations are an added plus. If I ever win the lottery, I'll shop here every day.
