As soon as you bite into an over-sized slice of Romano's pizza, you're transported directly to New York. In each slice, the crust crunches just slightly before giving way to the not-too-much, not-too-sweet tomato sauce, melted cheese and Italian sausage. Don't bypass the pastas which usually come with salad and garlic bread. A favorite is their signature Pasta Romano—ziti in a light wine sauce loaded with chicken, garlic, tomatoes and feta. It's hard to find good NY-style pizza as well as inexpensive, tasty Italian in ... read more

Poor Service – My date ordered a salad and I ordered a slice of cheese pizza. My pizza didnt come out after 15 minutes to my table. I had to go ask where it was then they gave it to me. That defeats the whole purpose of a place where you take a number to your table to have them bring it out. The pizza was good when I finally got it. My date said the salad was not very good.
hands-down the best pizza in htown!!!... – ...and honestly, ranks way up there on my list of favorites regardless of location. you won't necessarily get your choice of interesting/exotic pies, but they perfect the types and toppings offered. quite sadly, however, i often only get to order a single slice. the romano's baked ziti is the best i've ever had, and i find it too hard to pass up when there. along with the ziti, they offer many other classic italian dishes. the owners (who are always right behind the counter) are ext... read more
Not quite NY, but as close as possible! – An Upstate New Yorker displaced in Texas, I have made it my mission to find the best pizza in town. While there are still some flaws to be worked out, such as the fact that they do not make a bunch of specialty slices, but rather just put the items you request on top of cheese and then reheat, this pizza is the closest to the real thing that I've found yet in Houston. Don't go expecting authentic pizza, but it is by far the most acceptable I've found so far. Crust is perfect - I can'... read more
It Rocks! – I live two blocks around the corner from this place. The first time I saw this place, I thought, this is just some strip mall pizzaria. I was WRONG! I got addicted to their Lasagna, and then I tasted their pizza. Whoa! I will never again eat another pizza from another place unless someone else is paying for it. My Uncle is from N.Y. and he was coming down here for a wedding. He wanted some decent pizza. I took him to Romanos and he said it was as good or even better that N. Y. pizza. Folks, this pizza place will ... read more
This little slice of Italy is a gem among chains, vying to make pies you can't refuse. – The Scene Take a New Yorker to this joint. If he doesn't say it reminds him of Queens, it's because he's crying tears of homesickness. Dishes are authentic pizzeria staples (the owner hails from Italy via Ozone Park), but the low price is the main draw. Don't bother if you're out for the fancy stuff. The Food Salads are hit-and-miss, especially when the place gets slammed, but pizza's the star: thin-crust and snappy, flavorful and moist,... read more
What a wonderful surprise! – I've always been turned off by the location of the joint, but finally decided to give it a try after several recommendations. I'm so happy I did. Such yummy food, and so much of it! The Baked Ziti gets two thumbs up. It's better for take-out than dining-in as it's quite loud and a lil cramped.
The ONLY pizza I'll eat in Houston! Delicious. – I'm so lucky to have Romano's around the corner from me. It's without a doubt the best pizza I've had in Houston. It reminds me of the pizza I had when I lived in New York... It's delicious.
slice as big as my head – Get a slice, and share w/ a friend. Its tooo big. Great pizza. Yes a little more expensive than what I'm use to. But then a picasso is more expensive than a velvet elvis painting.
Best pizza anywhere – I love the thin, crispy crust on the pizza. The margarita pizza beats my own because of the crust. The lasagna is just right. A very friendly, family operation at the Memorial location.
