About this business

With a name like Rock'n Fish there is little left to be said about the atmosphere of this Manhattan Beach restaurant and bar. Since replacing the Manhattan Beach landmark, Hibachi restaurant in 2000, Rock'n Fish has striven to maintain the lively ambiance of its previous tenants, while supplying the freshest meats and seafood available. One of my favorite places! – I love this place! The food is wonderful. I am a regular, and will keep going back. The bar is fun if you don't want to do dinner, and they have their own delicious drinks they've invented. The tuna & halibut are great, and the seafood pastas are divine. I've never had a complaint! Wines are great too. Can get very very crowded, sometimes uncomfortably so. Must have reservations, and you will still wait for 40 minutes. It's usually worth it.

Great food, rude bartender! – I popped in there on a Thursday night by myself since I was on a business trip. I sat at the bar and the bartender couldn't give me the time of day, although he was flirting up a storm with two girls who sat next to me. I ordered the giant prawns which was amazing, but I had to ask for bread (which the people got next to me without asking) and the bartender looked annoyed. Maybe I was cramping the style of the place being alone, but I thought he was really rude. I will give this place another tr... read more

GREAT FOOD BUT... – I suggest to make reservation before eating at this great seafood restaurant. Great food- great service- except one problem- the owner approached us at the end of dinner asking us to move so he could sit other people. He sat us at the bar and told us he knew he could "buy us with a drink" I found it extremely rude, tacky and ruined the atmosphere. I walked with bad taste in my mouth that night.

Rocks... – I recently went here on a double date and had a wonderful time. The service was great and the people were really accomidating. We each had a different selection for dinner and it was ALL delicious. The barbeque shrimp was amazing...very spicy! The salmon was also delicious. A great place for a date or to hang out with friends.

Worth the wait! – If you are in the area, or have the time, I would definitely make a stop here. The food is wonderful, even my highly critical inlaws loved it. The blackened halibut is to die for. The wait was a little too long (about an hour and a half) but well worth it, especially since they have designed such an awesome bar. Make sure to make a reservation.
