I went in for foot surgery last Friday and Dr. Taylor was my anesthesiologist. I was assigned to him. While I was in pre op, my doctor told me that he would do a partial block in my ankle and before going to post op, Dr. Taylor was going to give me a knee block that would decrease my pain for the first 24-48 hours. He told my doctor that I needed to be awake to get the knee block. I was in post op recovery in more pain than what I should be especially with having strong pain meds in me.
