This local favorite doesn't disappoint even the hungriest cowboy. Southwest favorites offered in huge portions are served with a bevy of libations to boot. Think saloon atmosphere with bistro fare but don't be fooled, the food packs a big punch. Try the green Chile mac and cheese or their ever-so-juicy 22oz bone-in ribeye, to make you remember why you love Texas cooking. Locals can't get enough of the oven baked kettle of green Chile pork stew. The mood here is just as lively as the food, thanks to tasty drinks like the Roar... read more

Great night! – It was my first trip to Austin, and my fiance and I went into the Roaring Fork on a Monday night. I was extremely impressed. The service was impeccable from start to finish. The hostess was very nice even though we didn't have a reservation. The wine sommelier came over to present our bottle of champagne personally. The cornbread was amazing! We shared the New Mexican Fondue for an appetizer. After we used all our dipping material, I took the cornbread from our bread basket and started dipping it into the fond... read more
Arizona import serves American classics with a western flair in the InterContinental Stephen F. Austin Hotel. – The Scene Mirroring its flagship location in Scottsdale, the Roaring Fork's rock walls, leather accents, antler chandeliers and roaring fireplace create a rugged yet inviting western feel. College crowds and other happy hour revelers fill the saloon's barstools and couches. The main dining area, which hosts a mix of locals, legislators, and hotel guests, features a more upscale setting with a black-uniformed wait s... read more
Confused staff – The staff appeared to be confused on where we could sit. Without being escorted to a table, they simply waved in a certain direction of where we could sit. When finally finding a table with our nephew (birthday boy), we were told by a person who seemed to be an employee that we needed to move because it was reserved. We were completely surprised by the lack of coordination by a "high-end" joint. They finally sat us at a high bar table facing the wall, with my legs dangling down from the ridiculously tall cha... read more
Great service & food – I ate here with a friend for a Saturday night dinner. We didn't have a reservation, but they penciled us in for the earliest available time, which meant about a 1 hour wait - not too bad for a Saturday night in Austin. We had a very nice & attentive server, who was able to promptly correct to our satisfaction a misunderstanding which led to a higher than expected bill. I had the crab cake, which contained large chunks of crab & not much filler - awesome! My friend had the ahi tuna, which she enjoyed. W... read more
Great Food, Excellent Service – It was my first time at Roaring Fork and I had heard mixed reviews. My mind is made up, this is my new favorite place. From the time we entered the restaurant we were treated like good friends. The host was friendly and although we did not have a reservation we were seated right away. The food is amazing, the service was even better. Since it was our first visit Nicole guided us with our selections, everything was perfect. She even folded my napkin when I used the restroom!!! I highly recommen... read more
Good-Not Great – Good menu, interesting twists on traditional dishes. Prompt, effiecent service. Legislatures and lobbyists hang out here. Not a plus! Note to staff-unlock the door to the hotel entry and not make guest go outside and around the corner to get in. Not a friendly sign when staff seems annoyed at this prospect. Also, if you are a guest of the hotel, don't expect them recommend the resturant, not sure what this about.
Perfect example of a wonderful Restaurant – My brother and I went for a late lunch during the week, and the staff was very attentive and friendly. The food is excellent, and the portions are substantial - we had the smoked trout salad and the "Big A** Burger" - and both were delicious. We had a few glitches with our order, and our waiter was prompt in fixing the situation and the meal was perfect. Everyone said good-bye when we were leaving, and overall the experiene was very pleasant - I am very much looking forward to my n... read more
Added flavors not always found this good in Austin, Great Serving Staff – Another great experience at Roaring Fork. Our server was attentive and offered suggestions on entrees. One of the pleasentries was the servers are conversational when discussing the menu and interested in the foods we would enjoy. There are a few ingredients which I avoid due to allergies. The server was very knowledgeable about the ingredients and confirmed with the chef before placing the order. My wife's tuna was cooked perfect with seasonings to en... read more
Amazing Service! – My husband and I came here for our anniversary and were not disappointed. There was a card waiting on our table from the staff of the restaurant wishing us a happy anniversary, which was a very sweet gesture. When our server came up to our table, she immediatley wished us a happy anniversary and seemed genuinely excited for us. We were able to enjoy some wonderful champagne in a quiet booth in the corner. Our meals were both fantastic and sumptuous. I had the grilled giant shrimp and my husband had the fil... read more
