I am writing this second review to talk about the second reason I am staying here. Nicole starting working here my second year living here, and since then she has always been a friendly face at the front office, and someone easy to talk to when I needed help with anything at Elara.
I have lived at Elara at the Sawmill for four years, I wasn't sure about whether or not I was going to stay, but I am for one of two reasons. The first is a porter named Jordan. Whenever I was in gym, or outside on the property, I always see Jordan taking out trash, scrubbing the stairs, and a bunch of other things. I haven't seen the trash overflow in the gym yet so he must be doing something right.
I understand this is student housing, but this is beyond unacceptable. I have lived in crappy apartments, and this complex takes the cake. DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! The property is disgusting; none of the advertised amenities are available (I lived there a year and never ONCE was able to use the pool I was paying for because it was drained and covered. My family rented one of the affordable housing units. Our apartment was 304B. We began to smell what I believe were meth fumes. These fumes were in our apartment, but didn't seem to originate from our unit. My family had to move out because of these fumes. The office was made aware and we received an email stating that there would be a reminder in the November newsletter of the no-smoking policy. The newsletter came out with no reminder. I have lived here for three years now and love it! The location is perfect for students on main campus, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The maintenance team responds incredibly fast as well. Certainly worth looking into for rising sophomores/juniors.
Well I thought it couldn't get any worse, but they have proved me wrong yet again. When we moved my daughter in last August 2024 the apartment she was going to be sharing with a friend and just another person that lived there. We got there moved her all in but decided we needed another apartment as it was disgusting and unclean. By this time she had already got assigned a covered parking close by but since we moved we could not get a closer one so they offered the closest one so we still kept it. I have been residing here since 2019 as a Disabled Navy War Veteran. I have a spacious 2BR 1 1/2 bath and enjoy my apartment. I would recommend this community to all Veterans. I commend Christine ST Laurent for always looking out for my well being and making reasonable accomodations for me as needed. Bravo Zulu for a job well done!!!
Kately, the leasing manager, is awesome! So sweet and nice and fun and helpful!
the man working in the office is so rude and speaks to the girls at the front desk so rudely. he spoke to my mom like she was old and dumb she is perfectly healthy and has a doctorate the way he spoke down to her and interrupted/ cut off the girls working made me certain I would never live here.
