First visit tonight and we will not be back. Overall, big thumbs DOWN. Mussel appetizer was good, but overly salty, as were both entrees. Ordered the Auhi Tuna. Tuna was a great grade, but the sauce was overpowering, ruined the taste. The fried grits were tasteless & simply an off-putting texture. Grouper bites with shrimp, again the seafood was good, but the sauce was overpowering and overly salty, risotto was okay. The staff was great. The food was not. My seafood salad was tasteless and left me hurrying home for a peanut butter sandwich....just not enough food! My husband's sandwich was served without the meat but even when that was resolved, the results were mediocre at best. A $40+ lunch that was very unsatisfying.
We had a wonderful night and real fabulous southern Carolina coastal food. Louisville needed that so badly! Thank you John Varanese! We will be back often and come hungry!

First time tonight. Business dinner. Service was good... Slightly slow, but they were pretty busy so we did not overly notice. Lump crab and jumbo shrimp was divine! Had the Diver Scallops.. Delicious! Most definitely will come again!
Amazing food! And so excited to have more choices when it comes to dinning on the river.
The Mussels were outstanding and the restaurant is beautifully decorated! Can't wait to go back!
We tried River House for our last date night of our "staycation" and we were not dissapointed. The food was amazing, portions spot on, and the service was quick and friendly, and as a bonus there was a beautiful rainbow out in the sky. We will for sure return again.
