Dr. Ritch does not accept any insurance (despite the fact that my insurance company, United Healthcare PPO Choice lists him as “in network “). I learned this when I called his office to make an appointment (1st visit, for consultation) re possible laser peripheral irodotomy needed due to glaucoma, as suggested by another doctor. His office was hesitant to provide any upfront estimate of the out of pocket cost to me for just the initial visit (just a consultation). Dr. Ritch’s knowledge is well known. When I went to Taiwan, two famous eye doctors said that Dr. Ritch was world class. When I went to Shanghai, China, A famous doctor told me he read Dr. Ritch’s book. He is also very patient oriented. He gave me his e-mail address and cell phone number. When I asked him a question via e-mail one Saturday evening, he responded within 3 hours. When I had an eye infection on a Sunday, He remotely assembled a team of doctors to take care of me.

I visited Dr. Ritch Sept. 2018 on a last resort to repair a loose cataract,eye shunt after visiting Emory Eye Atl.Ga. who was too afraid to do the needed eye surgery they said (too risky) & was advising me that I would eventually loose the eye were talking about a fake eye eventually. I left went home found him on the internet & I flew out to NY & got a 2nd opinion & the same day he got me into Dr.Gorovoy , Fort Myers, Flordia . He did the surgery & it was a success ! He saved my Eye.

I have been seen by Dr. Ritch since 2006. He has kept me off medication and has treated me with a holistic approach, i.e. supplements rather than eye drops which had been prescribed by other doctors. Dr. Ritch is responsive to emails and all patient needs, more than any doctor I have ever known. Good communication is nonexistent in our healthcare environment. Dr. Ritch answers emails within a day, something I find unbelievable. He is professional, caring and always there for his patients.

I have seen Dr. Ritch for many years and by now almost take for granted his extraordinary, blue-ribbon (royal blue, in fact)) expertise and his extraordinary dedication to helping his patients. He managed to bring my own eye pressure down from the 30s, where it had been stubbornly stuck, to the teens, and so far my vision has remained stable. To say that I am grateful is an understatement. . His entire office operation,runs smoothly, in the best well-oiled tradition.

Dr Ritch was recommended to me by my glaucoma specialist in Chicago. I'm so glad I went and sought out a second opinion. I suffer from a severe case of low tension glaucoma, at a relatively young age. Dr Ritch examined me very thoroughly. I liked the comprehensive approach, we even did a few diagnostic tests never performed on me before. I received many recommendations to improve my current treatment plan and I will return for a follow up appointment in 3 months. I feel fortunate.

I was extremely impressed with the high level of care I received from Dr. Ritch, Dr Silva and the rest of the excellent staff, including Nicole Ross, his patient care coordinator. I would recommend his office unhesitatingly, both for the excellent medical care and the compassionate and courteous response to patient issues.
