I can’t say how much I love Rio Vista enough. The staff is compassionate, caring, educated and supportive. When one of my Boxers was battling cancer earlier this year we spent a lot of time at Rio, and every visit was given the same care and attention, no matter if we had been there twice that week already. Our little dog had her teeth cleaned today with one being extracted. The entire staff was so caring andattentive. When I picked her up there was a story of her day for me to read on the bag, written from her perspective. It was such a caring gesture! They explain everything they will do and have done and I fully trust them with my furry family members.
I found Beau in the HHDS Community Animal Shelter almost 3 years ago after I lost my last rescue. When I went to meet him, I found an extremely sad, fearful and heart broken 8 year old cat who had stopped eating. His owner had passed away earlier in the summer, and his brothers had been adopted out. The bottom line? Beau was in rough shape. Throw into the mix that he’d lost a rear leg when he was a kitten. Dr.Dodd’s and the staff at Rio Vista are very compassionate when it comes to taking care of my furry friends. Even the difficult ones get the care they need. Everyone has lots of patience. By time we leave our appointment my animals are best friends with everyone from the receptionist to the technician/ assistant to Dr. Dodds. You can tell everyone really cares about them and takes the time to get to know them. Rio Vista is family to us.
Poorly run by the new vet/owner. I politely asked about my appointment time as they were 25 minutes behind schedule. Was given attitude for asking and spoken to with very short answers and limited explanations regarding my dog. I called again to clear up questions I had and figured out the tech didn’t tell me half of the treatment plan. Vet had a fit on the phone when I told her that I understand they are swamped but that I hope to be treated better at my next visit. This woman is childish and rude. Dont go here. We applied for her and we didnt get her because we didnt take our other cat to the vet regularly Let me tell you we recently lost our cat who lived for 17 years... Happy lost a good home

We recently took my cat Sylvester here due to some coughing/sneezing and breathing issues. The staff was absolutely amazing and extremely friendly to us during our visit! He was given antibiotics and quickly improved within a few days. He is now back to being his old self and I am so grateful for everything! I highly recommend Rio Vista, we will definitely be returning here for future needs.
