A Boulder Classic – OK, so there's alot of differing opinions about the Rio. The truth- it is one of the best places in Boulder. Nowhere else can u go for the atmosphere, overall food quality and delicious margarita. As a long time regular I'm going to lay out a set of rules to keep in mind if u have never been there and respond to the 'naysayers,' which is bound to happen when u serve as many people as the Rio does. 1- the price. u can be in and out with a margarita and entree for under 20$. Try that anywhere else in Boulde... read more

Thanks Ian, stop by and ask for the manager on duty and say "Sullo sent me". You'll be pleased!
Best outdoor patio and good people watching – Sat on the patio for dinner and drinks and loved it. Now that the construction is done, it is perfect. Tasty margaritas, spicy good mexican food, and lots of entertaining people walking around. Try an agave martini, call your own tequila and sip away
Excellent Margaritas! – Fun place with a good atmosphere. Pretty good food, but truly excellent margaritas. Pretty crowded on the weekends but doable if you're there early or late.
Great Margs and Nachos! – I've been here numerous times and have yet to have a bad experience. There margs are tasty, if you like them strong. Being a vegetarian I love the fajitas and nachos. Granted it's not the best mexican food out there, but it's got average prices and a nice atmosphere. Also seating area outdoors - perfect for the hot summer nights! Another good place is Tahona!
Good place to start the night out – I'm new to Denver and my freinds took me the Rio to start the night off. Wow was it the altitude or the margs but I had a good buzz after 2. Lots of cute girls to look at as well! Definatly the place to start your night off.
patio in lodo – I love to sit on their patio and have a marg after work. Consruction next door still irritates me, It looks like it's coming to an end just in time for summer. I wish they opened earlier during the day, who closes between lunch and dinner downtown?
Flying Rouches.........not a joke!! – Do flying rouches make buzzing sounds? H-ya they do. Can you find them in Colorado? Apparently....And I saw my first one at the Rio in downtown Denver!!!! This was Mexi Restaurant has my favorite weekend starting point for strong drinks and good looking people...but since the night of May 17th, 2008 I refuse to go there. I planned my friend's bachelorette party on this night. We went to the Rio @ 9pm and of course waited for an hour and a half for a table. That part didnt bother us becau... read more
Chicken Bone in Enchilada – The margaritas are definitely worth going there, but the food is a different story. I refuse to eat there since I found a 3 in. chicken bone in my enchilada. Go for a margarita and chips and salsa, anything more than that is a gamble.
Start your night out right – We had a blast this past Cinco de Mayo at The Rio. They love to have fun and it shows. Have you tried the smoked chicken tacos, they are GREAT! Love the patio, the laid-back staff, and all the people. They do it right.
