Great margaritas, OK food, mediocre service – I really enjoyed the margaritas! They aren't syrupy-sweet and they tasted great. I originally tried to order a different mixed drink, but our waiter claimed that they only have beer, wine, and tequila. The food was good, but nothing unusual or outstanding. The service was kind of slow. We were there on a weeknight and it wasn't that busy. We were hoping to order dessert, but when our waiter finally dropped the bill off, he just dropped it and ran, so we paid and left.
3 limit margaritas for a reason!! – Being a seasoned drinker, my friend and I decided to get dinner and drinks. We decided we would show them 3 drink minimum!!! After eating a huge dinner and drinking margaritas with dinner, we walked out of there hammered!!! It was so awesome. We ate drank and defineately got out fill for around 50 bucks. Totally lively restaurant and lots of fun. Not a quiet atmosphere if that is what you are looking for.
Good food and great margaritas keep this Tex-Mex joint hoppin'. – In Short The floors are concrete, but elegant chandeliers hang here and there. Tables--often sticky from the last group's margaritas--are hand-painted with Mexican folk designs. This Tex-Mex place remains popular because of its beloved margaritas. Mini or maxi, frozen or on the rocks. But there's also free chips and salsa and sizzling beef, chicken or vegetarian fajitas with guacamole. It's all tasty, fresh and filling.
Food takes a backseat to the potent margaritas and the crowd that loves them. – In Short This wildly popular place usually has a line of people waiting for a table or patio spot. Luckily it's ok to order appetizers and margaritas at the bar and check out the social scene during the wait. The restaurant is all about margaritas: Big or small, frozen or on the rocks. They're deceptively potent; so there's a three-margarita limit. For dining, fajitas hit the table sizzling and queso dip is good to the last drop.
The best Margaritas! – My favorite Margaritas hands down! On the rocks is best. Quite sweet but balanced with almost the perfect amount of sour. And that strength. I crashed my bicycle after three (and jello shooters down the street) but it was worth it, dammit. The food is good, not very memorable but they contrast well with the Margartias. I recommend going to the 3 Margarita limit, then switch to Carta Blanca. The downside (there has to be a downside)? You will never love another kind of Margarita again.
User review by jmmo – Rio Grande is a great place to go for margaritas and a lively atmosphere. Unfortunately, what comes along with the lively atmosphere are lines to get in and a very loud restaurant. If you're in the right mood, Rio Grande is a great place to go for delicious margaritas and chips with queso.
a good choice – I have come to this restaurant twice already and both times had good service and the food was great. I especially love salsa tuesdays where a professional salsa dancer gives free lessons upstairs and then it's dancing on your own. It's a fun place to go and just hang out and drink Margaritas
The best margaritas ever! And good food too... – All the rave reviews about the margaritas are correct--I have never had better! All of them (house, frozen, frozen strawberry) are excellent. Try a "strawberry light" if you want strawberry flavor without overdoing it (mixed with regular frozen). As for the food, I am a vegetarian and LOVE this place! The bean/cheese burrito is only $6.95 and is definitely filling (ask for it baked, or the cheese won't be melted). Their chile rellenos are good as well. They have excellent vegg... read more
User review by grievous – I have gone here for years because their margaritas are the best in town. There food I find to be to pricy for what you get and it really doesn't taste all that great ether.I prefer the outside dinning area on summer nights.
