I was 13 years old when I came here for anger issues, depression, & suicidal tendencies and I saw some dark stuff! I was verbally abused, yelled at by several doctors, belittled for asking questions, bullied for being a "different" kind of kid by kids and the adults. The doctors treated me like a drug addict and said 5 different diagnosis for no reason! I had been on medicine for 7 years at this point and no one questioned why I was on medicine! the respect and care that I received at one of my darkest times was amazing I didnt feel judged by others I was safe and the rules really got me into a good routine of self care. the staff in unit 3 were so wonderful and helpful. Dr. Greenlee also really listened and suggested therapy techniques and the route I should take with my psychiatrist!

I was admitted inpatient at the ridge over a year ago. During this time, I was not fed for over three days. The nursing supervisor, Mike, felt the condition that caused me to have limited food options was ~fake~ and said he had never heard of it. I signed a release of information for my immunologist, so they could speak to them and realize this disease is very real. Instead, they chose not to feed me. Worst experience ever! I brought my daughter in because she told me she was hearing voices. The next morning I get a call from the psychiatrist screaming at me because I didn’t know the extent of her mental state. I was belittled, demeaned, and yelled at by a man who’s only met my child for five seconds. This was the first time I’ve ever had to do this. instead of being met with kindness and respect I was verbally attacked and called a bad parent I’m so many words. I was their back in April and honestly it was the best expire ever had. The staff members were always their for me no matter what. One of the nurses their I really got a close bond with her and she was always willing to help me no matter what. I really appreciated every staff member their that helped me. I recommend this place for teens because it’s really helpful and 2 counselors I talked to was so helpful and was always right by My side while I was their it was such a pleasure to meet the people I met and how nice they wer... read more
