I was there this morning, to try and get my wonderful boy Smokey some help. Unfortunately he passed away while we were there. Dr. Putnam was extremely nice and did what he could to comfort me upon losing my service animal. He could have been dishonest, as some probably would have been, when Smokey passed before euthanasia could be started and told me he had done it and charged me. As soon as you walk through the doors of the clinic, you feel like you are home. All of the staff genuinely care about each and every pet that comes through their doors. I would never trust anyone other than them to treat my fur babies.
RVC has impressed me with their professionalism, caring attitude, and expertise. They answered my many questions and even called me to ask how my cat was doing with his new diet and meds.
Dr.Putnam is amazing he saved my boys life...I'll never go to another vet

This place is awesome! My dog was hit by a car around 6 weeks ago & after taking her to several veterinarians in the area including Lexington, Dr. Putnam was the only one who was willing to work with her & her injuries. While she was hospitalized there for a month, the staff worked very closely with her, keeping me updated & allowing me to visit whenever I could. It felt like forever but I finally got to bring her home yesterday & she's already doing so much better. I'm so grateful for the staff at Richmond Veterinary Clinic... read more
Dr.Putnam was my vet in Lexington before I moved down to Richmond, and I was delighted to have him here. He loves all my furry gang and takes great care of each and every one. Being able to reach him 24 hours a day is dedication to my dogs and cats that gives me confidence and peace of mind. I came in today with a suddenly sick cat--no appointment and he took extra time to spend taking care of her.
Dr Putnam is an excellent vet and a really nice guy. my mother's little chihuahua had really bad teeth I was in a lot of pain. Dr Putnam pulled all his teeth and now he acts like a little puppy again. and the animals love him too. I recommend Dr. Putnam to everyone I see. Thanks so much little bit&family
I love that no matter what time I call someone answers the phone and if it's an emergency they will come in Dr Putnam was so good with my dog belle but she was just to sick we had to let her go.
