You can tell Dr. Putnam has genuine concern for my babies by the look in his eyes. I have several pet rats and it's hard to find a knowledgeable exotic vet. I was first directed to an overpriced and unknowledgable "exotic" hospital for my rats. They wanted $300 to neuter a single rat. Forunately, an actual rat owner told me about this place. The same procedure is done her for around $60 and I trust the guy. It's top quality care without an outrageous price. I drive all the way from Lexington to see him.

I began taking my Shih Tzu to RVC nearly 9 years ago when she was just a pup and I was living in Richmond and going to college at EKU. We've since moved to Lexington (7 years ago) but have continued to go to RVC because Dr. Putnam and his staff make it worth the drive! They're always friendly, clean, thorough, and I know she's in good hands!
Dr Putnam saved my puppys life, and he is back home with me alive and well. He also saved him without breaking my wallet. So very grateful.
We love, love, love Dr. Putnam and the staff. They are so friendly and knowledgeable. They really take time to explain treatment option to the fur parents. Couldn't think of a better place to take my 15 year old Timmy.
My cat has epilepsy, and so, he's had to have several trips to the vet recently to get that under control. Despite the fact that he hates vet trips, and can be rather difficult, Dr. Putnam, Dr. Lewis, and the rest of the staff have been absolutely awesome with him. Thanks to all of you!
