Terrible, Terrible physician. Took two months to see him. After he canceled 3 times and rescheduled, I went to appointment, where I waited for an hour and was then told by the nurse he had left for the day, and I need to reschedule. What a joke. Matano has no respect for this patients, and the level of care he provides is borderline criminal.
for 10 years he was treating me for my right leg until 2018. My appointment with him was deplorable I told him my right leg was very cold and his answer to me was there is nothing wrong with your right leg...That was March and I then searched for vascular doctors only to find out In was about to lose my right leg because it 90% occluded. I went to another doctor and I was about to lose my leg...On top of that Matano charged my insurance co. for a procedure that he never did and HE THEN HAD TO RETURN THE MONEY to medicare... ... read more
I had high hopes for Dr Matano but those hopes were quickly extinguished. My 73 year old father went in for surgery yesterday at 6am for a 8am procedure (standard) But being there is the Covid -19 issues going on he had to go alone. No one to advocate for him. Well the doctor opened him up and determined that the surgery wasnt necessary (understandable) so he closed him back up and he was sent to recovery. 12 HOURS LATER no one had told my father he never had the surgery. My mother had to tell him over the phone. Needless to... read more
On February 27, 2018, I entered St Francis Hospital for removal of scar tissue on my left carotid artery. Since the surgery, I no longer have a normal voice. I have a barely audible, raspy whisper now. This makes my communication skills nearly impossible. I make a great effort to speak and lose oxygen as I try. The only way I can turn up the volume to be heard is to write and this letter is intended for him. Hear me! I was looking forward to returning home the following day, unfortunately this was not the case. I stopped bre... read more
Do your research. Find another surgeon. If we had known we would of done the same. St. Francis Hospital, Roslyn, NY, can no longer be trusted for providing care for our loved ones.
This man has changed my mother's life in such a negative way that he should never ever walk into an operating room again!! Not only did he do irreversible damage during surgery- he didn't even care enough to meet with me or even call one time to see if my mom was alive or dead after he knew how bad she was after surgery. I truly hope and pray that this is not the norm for how you treat your patients and their family members. I'm certain that if this God Forbid happened to your mother you would
Dr. Matano is a remarkable physician. He is brilliant, caring, reassuring and highly skilled. A Michael Angelo of surgeons! He has no equal.
The above left our family member to pass away by not providing the immediate medical intervention our family member needed. This unfortunately is a fact. Be mindful.
He's awesome. Maybe a little rash with his underlings, but that's because he's a perfectionist.
