I purchased a new home in Nov 2023 and moved into it in Dec 2023. During the purchase I had an inspection and my water heater worked well and it was indicated that this is a newer water heater. 4 months later the water heater was leaking (causing damage to the carpet in the basement) and I had to replace it. I will never in my life purchase a rheem product again, and if you are reading these reviews to get an idea of a product to buy, stay away from rheem. Not only will you get a poorly made product, you will also have a hard time getting your parts even if it’s under warranty. I purchased a 40 gallon water heater, and just after the one year mark, the gas valve went bad. It took a week to receive the part. 2 month old defective water heater. Filed the issue on 12/8 still not resolved. Poor customer service. The representatives do not know how to perform their job. Rheem is not fulfilling their part of their issue
