It is hard to put into words. I was dressed and ready to go into my procedure and Dr Mahrou comes over to my bed, in his surgery center, and starts raising his voice to me. He told me that the procedure that I had requested was denied by my insurance but that he would be able to do HALF of what I had requested. Then his partner and he start saying things like 'you know insurance doesn't pay for all of this. And, do you promise to pay the rest', etc etc. This is while I am dressed for surgery and about to put to sleep. It was beyond upsetting and felt like an ambush. Who does that?

For the last 7years I've been to doctors from orange county -San Francisco and let me just say Dr.Mahrou is the first pain management doctor who knows everything about treating chronic pain and its causes. He treats every patient with respecrt and compassion. I travel 65 miles to see him in fact i can not wait until my next visit. Dr.Mahrou is truly the best. If i lived in a different state i would fly to california just to visit him thats how good he is. I love Dr. Mahrou!!!i never had to wait.
