Kunio is definitely high on our list of a guaranteed good eats - Japanese restaurant in Waikele! Every dish we ordered was awesome and the prices are reasonable for a Japanese restaurant! I love the consistency and am a loyal fan!
Food is fantastic as always, quality did not diminish even with a few years apart of not being there, the memory of the fun times and excellent dishes lived true as I have revisited this fine establishment. The Funatori Boat and Sunset Rolls is almost the equivalent for the Spartan Race challenge... but for your stomach.
Prepare to wait for you sushi order. Tends to back up because it’s soooo good!! So worth the wait!!!💕
It's pricey if you want a good variety, but their food overall is so good. The tai sashimi is just..omg melt in your mouth.
My second time to Kunio’s and I loved what I ordered. Shoyu Butterfish with Mixed Tempura. Tempura so crispy, the Butterfish tasty, tender, and delicious. I definitely would go back again. It’s been 2 for 2! Can’t wait for the next time.
How can hand rolls be so expensive especially there were no prices, 2 hamachi, 2 hours, and 1 spicy tuna for 5 hand rolls paid $37.50 and server Liane didn't even bring beverage till meal was nearly finish which restaurant was slow.
Good food, good taste and good service. We will be back again.
