My friend is currently renting a home in Pittsburgh managed by Rentwell, and the conditions are appalling. Every single time it rains, the basement floods. There is mold everywhere, and the stench of cat urine is so strong it’s causing health issues. If I could give zero stars, I would. Our experience with this property management company was nothing short of frustrating, misleading, and unprofessional. We were initially passed over as applicants, only to be contacted later when the other party "decided against it." They asked if we were still interested — we confirmed we were. Shortly after, we received a formal approval letter, which explicitly stated that we had two days to submit the security deposit. Today, I went on a self-guided tour of an apartment. The exterior of the building honestly looked abandoned, with trash scattered everywhere. There was no lawn maintenance at all, and the dumpster was overflowing onto the sidewalk. The door leading into the property was broken, and the handle was in such poor condition that it wasn't even functioning properly.
