Reliant Energy has been nothing but a terrible experience. My bill kept climbing every month with no clear explanation, and when I tried to reach out for help, their customer service was absolutely useless. The representatives were rude, dismissive, and quick to tell me their “hands were tied” because of a contract instead of actually offering any solutions. After 8 years I signed on with a different provider. The rates that they were offering were ridiculous and I'm not going to be paying for Centerpoint's poor decision making favoring profits over maintenance, grid upgrades and storm preparedness. The most amusing thing was when they were calling me after I had canceled services and signed on with a new provider. Why couldn't you offer the better contract rates prior to my canceling? Just another piece of crap energy company with horrible customer service.
Free nights is a scam. They charge you more during the day instead. Signed to lower my electricity bill instead it's $184 with free nights. Ridiculous don't sign up with them.
