I have done business with REI for nearly 20 years of hiking, camping, and kayaking. Prices are sometimes higher than other stores but the service always made up for it.

I was glad to go to Seattle flagship store from Japan. I was surprised at the huge scale overturning the concept of the outdoor Store. Great education and experience!

I love REI and have been a member for 25 years. I hope they will take steps to sever any relationship with Vista Outdoors, a large gun manufacturer that also manufactures Giro, Bell and Razkulls helmets, and Camelback gear.

I rented snowshoes yesterday and was distressed to realize that the cost was double ($26/pair with $10 poles) what I paid at the Alderwood location ($13/pair with $8 poles). They told me that rental costs are not the same at every REI location?! To make matters worse, once I got to the trail head and strapped the snowshoes on, I realized the clip on the front strap was broken rendering the snowshoe nearly impossible to use. Staff was very helpful and I love the layout of the store. High prices but not if you compare it to the quality of gear you are getting.
