Looking for new Hokas or Altras. Never had either brand. Lots of learning and good assistance to do so in the Women’s Runners and Hiking area. I had two sales associates who did a tag team with me because there were so many customers shopping. They both helped my husband and me simultaneously. I ended up with two new pairs of shoes, one ordered on line to insure the perfect fit. I need to come to the down town store more often! At least 3 times the size of our usual store in Cincinnati, hence 3 times as likely for us to impulse buy! Had to return an air mattress that had a faulty valve and everyone at the place was very professional and thoughtful, despite the fact that we were lax in reading the fine print. We already spend too much $ at REI, but the customer service at this one ensures that we are customers for life. Plus, they have a waterfall! How cool is that!?

Went kayaking shopping at the Seattle REI today. Tim in the Kayak Section was unbelievable. He went through the various Kayaks and gave us great insight on the types of Kayaks. Friendly, patient, and caring. Great experience at REI today thanks to Tim!
Huge store.. The mother store. Lots of great outdoor stuff and clothing.
I was hoping to buy a THULE at the OLY location, they informed me it was not availabe, and ther MIGHT be 1 at a location @ 60 miles away.
Purchased kids cross country skis, old rentals ( for my seven year old son) and rented a couple Adult Nordic ski, pole, and boots packages. We are now enjoying ourselves at cabin creek off of I-90!
