I purchased an Evergreen Campfire Rocking Chair from a garage sale couple years back and was recently told by REI themselves there was a safety recall on the product because it was known to tip backwards. Even though I purchased it at a garage sale and fully understand items are As-Is I don't think its ethical or moral for REI to pawn off unsafe items (REI PRODUCTS AT THAT) at a discount and then tell customers, "well you bought it As-Is so therefore you're stuck with it". Talked with a guy in the shoe department he was so helpful! I wish I knew his name. He helped me find an amazing pair of shoes and even gave me a few ideas to try if these don't end up working out.
Called on the phone about shoes with support for supination and the girl was a little short and didnt seem to care that much. Thanks seattle store. Just wanted some trail runners for my evil feet.
For many years I was a fan of REI. But after two very bad experiences with their customer service (which used to be the main reason to drive to their stores) I've made a promise to never set a foot on their store ever again. Now days REI is full of FOMO's ( fear of missing out) people. NEVER AGAIN.
Don't remember the name of young lady that helped me this morning. Great customer service! Took the time to explain advantages of different packs. Went away the proud owner of REI Ruckpack 40 L
