We live near Springfield, Illinois and travel cross country to Oregon. We plan our first stop in North Liberty because of Reds Alehouse. Last summer at a Cubs game we chatted with a couple from Iowa who knew all about Reds. Everyone we've talked to loves this place as much as we do. Good food, good prices, good beer... If I was to change one thing, I'd lower the music. But maybe that's just me.
I made my 1st visit to Red's Saturday 3-11, for the most part I had a good dining experience. I was joined by my wife and her BFF. I got a cup of soup (corn and potato chowder, and the side order of mac and cheese. I have to say that I wasn't impressed with the mac and cheese at all. I think your missing the boat by not making a cheese sauce with a beer to pair with the cheese sauce. Extensive Whisky selection, thumbs up. The wait staff is very friendly and quick.
I've been to Red's a bunch of times. The food is always great and the wait staff usually does a good job. However, we went on a double date here one Saturday night and there was a significant wait and once we were seated we hardly saw our waitress. It seemed like all of the staff was a little overwhelmed with the number of people dining there.
First time visit. Great service... Danielle rocks!
