I wandered in to the Red Star to grab a drink before a trip to Florida recently. I was downtown shopping for beachwear and happened upon it mid-afternoon. While the lunch crowd had cleared out, I was happy to find the bar was bustling. The hostess on duty, Amber, greeted me as I walked in and recommended a grey hound after I asked about a refreshing drink for a hot day. After two delicious grey hounds, shopping downtown was way more fun.
I recently visited Red Star Tavern because a friend recommended I go there. I was visiting family in Portland and and a friend of mine who lives in Portland had a wedding rehearsal dinner there. She loves it. She said it would be the perfect place to stop in while visiting and shopping in the downtown area. It sure was a great place!
