My favorite place to eat and enjoy a meal in Joplin. Great atmosphere, menu and wait staff. The old building is lovely. We've had several excellent meals about the lunch time period, and while busy, the wait from ordering to the plate meeting the table was not long. I'm impressed. Bravo also to the head chef and kitchen staff, the food menu and beverage list is great.

Red Onion has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. I love that it is locally owned. I love the food. Always great service. And the location is great when I have something to do downtown after dinner. One of my favorite places to eat on Third Thursdays.
The Red Onion Café was a wonderful choice to cater our wedding last fall. We served a full meal (Downtown Chicken and Penne from Heaven) and spread of appetizers - Everything was delicious! James was so helpful, organized, and accommodating. He EVEN helped us put together a custom “lemonade stand” with multiple flavor add-in options! The best surprise was that he had dinner plates waiting for my husband and I at our reception table, so that we didn’t have to go through the buffet line (dragging my big dress). Thank you!!

Can we just talk about their house salad dressing please? It’s amazing. The coconut chicken strips were great, as was the service. Cute place with great food. Please check them out. You won’t be disappointed.
