Their breads are spectacular.
This place is such a gift-in so many ways...delicious, lovingly prepared food, kind and helpful staff, thoughtful management and an overall wonderful atmosphere. They also pool their tips and donate the $$ to those in the community that can benefit from it!

Truly great bread baked by great people. Randy and Eliza work directly with farmers, pay their employees a living wage, and their Vermont pride shows in their products.
I love bread from here. I love that it’s organic and not enriched with additives like folic acid.
Wish it were closer to Barre.
If you haven't been to Red Hen or purchased any of their breads, you're missing out! Not only do they make the most delicious, quality breads and pastries, but it's also run by two wonderful people (and an amazing staff team) who are dedicated to the health and wellbeing of the state. Plus, it's the perfect place for lunch meetings!
Stop on every trip to Montpelier. Love the fig anise rolls!
