We were visiting Carlsbad--playing tourist--and decided to try the Red Chimney. First--our waitress was exceptional. Extremely friendly & efficient. I had the pecan smothered smoked chicken & my husband had the ribs. Both were very good. We aren't super fans of the vinegar/Carolina style bbq sauce--but Red Chimney's was very good. The rolls with honey made a GREAT dessert. We will definitely be back when we visit Carlsbad again.

Absolutely awesome. Probably the best BBQ I've ever had. The location is great, with great atmosphere. Designed as a log cabin makes you feel like you are right at home with family. Food was delicious, and came out quick, even though they were quite busy. Service was perfect. Drinks never stayed empty, even the owner came by to make sure everything was ok. Best barbecue in town. Very friendly people no matter when you go. Will continue to eat here for many more years to come.
