About five years ago, I had a detached retina in my left eye. I woke up on a Saturday morning and lost half of my vision. Unfortunately, I had to contact my insurance company and by the time everything was set up for the surgery, it was the following Tuesday and I was scared to death that I was not going to be able to see out of that eye again.
