I brought my husband into Rapides ER yesterday because he fainted three times at work and needed stitches.They did not seem to be overly busy, but never got him into a room. They did do a CT for head injury but 'could not' tell him if he had a concussion. They did bloodwork and stiched him up in the hallway. I called the number given on paperwork to speak with someone and got ICON AIRCRAFT. That's right, these people aren't even smart enough to put their own phone number on their paperwork! My husband was taken to Rapides Regional Hospital due to stroke. We got there on Friday 12/27/19. He was processed through ER then placed in ICU - this is where the nightmare began. There was 0 compassion or empathy from nursing staff. At 3 different visits I arrived to my husband laying in his own waste, during one visit a nurse gave him a sodium chloride pill crushed and just sprinkled on a spoon of pudding. I want to share this in hopes no one else experience it. I went in to have a hysterectomy and being a woman I knew this was the end of any chance of having children. This facility took no consideration of the matter they placed me on the maternity floor for my stay , this was one of the most careless encounters I ever indured in my entire life. I had a fever the night of my surgery the nurse put baby frozen pamper under my arms to break fever. I do forgive anyone for anything but this encounter is one I will never forget.
