Went a few days ago and the place was packed...I was going to leave when someone came up and asked if they could help me. I was very blessed to have Terry, the owner help me out! He was very knowledgeable, caring, and took his time with me to make sure I got the perfect pair of running shoes..we even enjoyed talking about the rail trails in my area..maybe someday I will "run" into him on one of the trails! I highly recommend checking the place out.
As a grown-up novice walker, I greatly appreciated the Rapid Transit staff in helping me pick up a quality shoe and their supportive attitude! But it is a parent of ever-growing twins that my love for Rapid Transit grows exponentially. From their honest appraisal that my son probably doesn't need to upsize shoes just yet, to Nathan's incredibly respectful and thorough review with my daughter in getting new shoes that fit and *she* loves, we all agreed it was a very positive experience. Our thanks all around.
When I started walk/running I was near 300 lbs and they listened to me and my needs and helped me get exactly what I needed. Then a couple months later (considerably lighter) I was running 5 and 10k at a time and they helped me change to exactly what I needed again. Then again when I upgraded to 1/2 marathons they helped me change again to the proper footwear. As a Running coach and long time runner I recognize the value of expert advice and Rapid Transit is the go to for shoes and running apparel in the State College Area. Their staff is very knowledgeable and will get you in the right shoe. Check them out for your running needs.
Listen ... the entire staff understands and embraces customer service. Forget for a moment the great shoes and athletic apparel. How great is it to walk into a business whose team knows your name and is genuinely appreciative of your business ? And is passionate about what they do?
