Came in from North Carolina, pretty easy at the airport , signs everywhere where u need to go, found my bags and where to go find taxis fast
I've been in airports all over the world, and RDU is the friendliest I've been in. It's small but accommodating. The airport employees are helpful and friendly. The airline lounges are centrally located. My only concern is there are not any smoking areas inside security, but it's that way with just about any U.S. airport. It's a great place to fly into and out of.
They revamped the airport completely now, it looks just like a night club. Everyone's excited and confused!
For a "smaller" airport, RDU has a nice atmosphere, good selection of restaurants - some with live music during daytime! - and, perhaps most notably, the most pleasant-smelling hand soap in the restrooms. :)
The parking lots are a joke. Can't find a space even when they say they are open, too expensive, and even leaving is a nightmare. What airport has 2 exists neither marked. It's 20 minutes further for me to drive to Charlotte but getting in and out is much easier.
