For cerevisaphiles (ardent beer lovers), Raleigh Beer Garden is heaven. Touted to be the largest draft beer selection in an establishment in the planet, it boasts 366 taps of craft brew. The brainchild of Niall Hanley, a local restaurateur, it spans across three floors with patios and a rooftop. Built with the wood of pecan trees that stood on the site of the bar, it has a lovely rustic look to it. To get a taste of North Carolina beers, head to the first floor bar which features 144 taps. There is also a cocktail corner cal... read more

So much thought, time and effort went into the development of the Raleigh Beer Garden. Well done Niall! There is no limit to your talents and creativity! I am so very proud of you!
Great addition to Raleigh by bringing this to the Glenwood area!!
This place is horrible. It's too dark to read the menus, the music is too loud to have a conversation, there are few food items on the menu and those items taste mediocre at best, they won't bring you a beer from another floor (they only have NC beers on the first floor so if I wanted a beer from somewhere else I had to go get it myself), the food is overpriced, and I had to wait almost 2 hours for all of this.
Atmosphere is phenominal. Tremendous potential. Bartenders are less than knowledgeable of the beers they serve (even on the basic questions). Price is outrageous. Paid $9 for a pint of an NC beer that I thought might be 'hard-to-find,' but found it for $5 a pint 2 blocks down the street. Hope the kinks are worked out, but really hope the prices do not drive the local beer drinkers elsewhere.
Your staff wouldn't let us in at 4:30 Sun 7/29. Left scores of people in 90 degree heat and sun on the sidewalk. Said it was " one in, one out". The tables were mostly open, but they refused to let us in. Dozens of people left rather than wait. This was a stupid policy. You cant let people roast on the sidewalk when you have tons of open shaded tables and air conditioning inside.
Great food and great beer which are the main keys. They really need to work out the kinks, bathrooms, service and beer menu just to name a few. Definitely will be going back.
Lots of potential, great concept, great venue. Lots of growing pains and execution issues that will have to be remedied in order for this place to realize its ambitions. Currently, service is a problem... Both at the tables but especially at the bar. They can't offer tastings, which all good pour houses do. Flights are not an option, which would be ideal at this place.
Aside from the fantastic staff and huge selection beer selection (366 on tap), the Raleigh Beer Garden is a great place to grab a bite, a pint, and enjoy the company of your friends!!!
