Both my parents have seen Dr. Benator. My mother saw her once and felt so patronized, she switched doctors immediately. I took my father to his appointment and, after having his questions and concerns ignored, I asked them again. She dismissed me out of hand, claiming not to understand what I was saying, and then repeated my father was fine. Gratefully, we were told she is retiring this year and his next appointment is with another doctor. Her rapport with patients & their families is appalling.
In my professional career, I have worked with many ophthalmologists. Dr. Benator is the best of the best. She is very thorough and always keeps up to date on the latest medical research and state of the art equipment. When problems are detected, she offers clear explanations and options for treatment, then respects the patient's decision. She and her staff are the perfect balance of friendly and professional. A visit to the office is like receiving service from your most trusted friends.
She did not present in the caring way she indicated she would in her online video - she hadn't read my completed medical info form before seeing me. She didn't know why I was there. Didn't seem to welcome questions - terse responses in a hurry. Felt like I was in a revolving door. She must have spent all of three minutes with me. The rest of the time it was her healthcare helpers. Eyes not given sufficient time to dilate. Feeling deceived and disappointed: Won't be back.
