Quartino

4.5

About this business

With the melange of regional favorites from all over Italy, co-owner and chef John Coletta presents both traditional cuisine as well as experimental items at Quartino. The restaurant is known for providing quality, handmade food, where almost everything is made fresh and within house. Try the salumeria tasting, it is quite impressive and with a variety of wines to go with the food, there isn't any surprise why the place is a firm favorite among Chicagoans.

Okay, soooo I was here last night for sslalad & pasta - came back the next night for pizza. Ordered a 1/2 & 1/2 - pepperoni & Margherita & when the frick does a Margherita doesn't have tomatoes! Really! This IS NOT a classic MARGHERITA pizza YOU would get in ITALY!

Food was good, but service was spotty. Friendly, but spotty. One member of our party didn't get his order taken & dinner entrees arrived, while we were still eating appetizers. Obviously popular -- the place was packed, Very loud. The place is a whirlwind. Good vibes, but inconsistent.

Authentic cooking style made with fresh ingredients and prepared by the hands of an extremely skilled chef. The beef carpaccio was succulent and it melted in your mouth. The pastas are made from scratch, and served with fresh cheeses made in-house. And the service was to die for. Our waiter was charming and very friendly to our party of 10! He was extraordinarily knowledgeable about the ingredients and the preparation of the food. Overall, very impressed.
