Purely.......a waste of time and money – This place is to be avoided. There was so much chit-chat it was hard to concentrate. To make it worse the woman I was stuck with kept trying to get up in my business. I was asked to do moves I'd never seen before and when I asked about it I was told these moves were from a different Pilates style!?!?!? They need to change their name to something less misleading......Perhaps Pilates? Possibly Pilates?
highly recommended – i used to do a lot of bikram yoga in berlin. here in l.a. i have not found a studio i like enough to go back to. i have always wanted to try pilates and a friend told me about this studio. i first took a private class with maria who put together a great series of exercises after she noticed what my problem areas were. she is extremely knowledgeable and friendly! after the first class i felt exhilarated. the next time i went i took my boyfriend, and although we have different problem areas she worked out ... read more
Great experience – I have had back problems since playing football in high school. I went to Purely Pilates on the recommendation of a family member. Maria is awesome in her knowledge of how to treat my problem areas and in directing my workout sessions. My back is finally getting better (years later!!!). If you want Pilates training with a knowledgeable, friendly and dedicated staff, I highly recommend Purely Pilates.
Not really New York Style, but good work out. – Kind of resembles the New York style, but lots of different add-in's not found in classical Pilates (at least not that I've recognized from other studios claiming to teach the same practice). Teacher was nice, rest of staff seems nice, as well. Good work out.
Finally! A great Pilates Experience! – I've tried a few , with unhappy results, even one on the same street, and finally found a great pilates studio. The studio is warm and intimate, the equipment well maintained and state of the art, the instructors (especially Maria and Olivia) are knowledgeable, thorough, and careful. (I have some lower back issues, they really know how to strengthen and strech without straining or injuring, and remember without being constantly reminded that my back is prone to injury.) Great Pilates Session – Purely Pilates is a great addition to the pilates scene in Larchmont. I travel some distance to go there because of the outstanding instructors - especially the owner, Maria. She is experienced, professional and really knows pilates. The studio is very, very nice and there is plenty of nice, new equipment to handle several private sessions at one time.
