My son had to stay in the NICU after he was born because he was stridorous and also weaning down on morphine. The hospital was trying to figure out what was causing the stridor, but they weren’t actually doing any diagnostic tests—no swallow study, nothing. They did have a swallow pathologist, or somebody of that nature come in, a few times and Each day we just waited. He was on an NG tube, and eventually they allowed him 10 mL from a bottle. Overall, 5 star nicu. But I have to give it 4 stars because of my experiences I had while my baby was admitted. In general my babies care was awesome except for a few instances. But the whole time we were there, things were explained to us in great detail so we knew what to expect on a daily basis. Any questions we had, were answered. One of the biggest issues we had seemed to be night shift nurses. Obviously night shift is a while different ballgame than dayshift.
