Great place and atmosphere
Out of all things you could name a drink that has the wonderful mezcal from my motherland, Mexico, you decide to be offensive, ignorant, and not be able to realize that the name of your drink is not funny, witty, or smart. There are literally a million things that you can relate mezcal, tequila, and many other beverages that come from my motherland, but you choose the word IMMIGRANT, in these times? In these days? naming a drink "the welcome immigrant" to shed light on the ICE crisis? i mean, colonizers were hardly welcome immigrants so...-
The Welcome Immigrant takes the prize for the most insensitive idea for a menu item I have seen. “Hello Mexican immigrant who was just released from a detention center and may never see your child again, can we interest you in a $12 beverage? Welcome to Portland?” I’ll never step foot in this place again, and it’s sad, Produce row was one of the first spots I frequented when I moved to PDX in 02’. Never again.
