I was transported to Parkridge Hospital ER today. Upon arrival, I couldn’t breathe. One of the ER nurses told me I had to wear a mask wherein I informed her that I couldn’t breathe. She raised her voice and said I Had To Wear one. I repeated to her that I couldn’t breathe. She said it didn’t matter and that I had to wear one. What?! I can’t breathe and it doesn’t matter?!!!! My mom was admitted to the ER today. Her condition makes her not always remember important details of her medical condition, so I am very concerned that no one was allowed in the ER with her. I understand we can't have a ton of people, but not allowing her to have an advocate for her health and well being is wrong. We did not receive a call requesting medical history and can only hope someone read the paperwork we sent in with her and looked at the bottles of medication we sent in as well. was discharged for non compliance because the doctor didnt want to call Mediciad and do prior authorization paperwork. instead of doing that she decided to discharge me after i requested multiple times for her to please speak to them about getting me something through them that i can afford. i shouldnt have to get a good rx card if the doctor does this paperwork or looks on the blue choice medicad site like they are supposed to do.
