I made a mistake on my taxes and the IRS sent me a CP2000 seeking to adjust my earnings and collect tens of thousands in back taxes not including interest. I submitted every tax form and document they requested to correct the issue well before the deadlines. These were sent via certified mail and confirmed received by the IRS but once they landed in the office, those forms got lost on someones desk. Horrible lawyer. He lied to me about settling my debt. He told me he could help me with an IRS settlement, but after he received the retainer, he told me there was nothing he could do. Took my money and made a few phone calls. I was robbed, and I still owe the IRS. I'm filling a complaint with the state bar. He will need to prove to the state bar how he spent my retainer. He also does not return email messages. I would hire someone else if I was you.
