Prairiewoods Franciscan Spirituality Center is an eco-spirituality retreat and conference center located on 70 acres of woods and prairie in Hiawatha, Iowa. We welcome people of all faiths and cultures to walk our trails, get a massage or spiritual direction, participate in a program or retreat, buy a spiritual gift in our Gift Shop, or simply be in the beauty of nature. HOURS: Prairiewoods is always open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekdays, but we are also open most evenings and weekends. Please call for specific hours.

I came here for a retreat for work last year. the staff is really kind. The food was delicious. I have been back several times to walk the trails (free to use). I enjoy the serenity. I always visit grandmother oak and walk the labyrinth. I look forward to discovering more on my next visit!

The cooks were wonderful. I attended an SCBWI retreat, and we were told to notify them of any food allergies. I have celiac, and all the meals (except for the bread and dessert) were prepared gluten free, and tasted great. On the last day of the event, the cooks found me, and handed me a single, fresh baked gluten free oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, just for me.
