Absolute worst! RUN thats all you need to know. ...But if you are desperate and decide to move in. Invest on a deadbolt because they love just coming in without any notice. Classic... Powelton Properties is owned by Dr. Sheldon Schwartz a retired gastroenterologist from Lexington MA. We have asked him and Powelton Properties to provide the copy of a lead result/certificate, mandated by the city of Philadelphia, which would reveal if the property is safe. Landlords customary provide that documentation to tenants when they lease in Philadelphia. Nothing has been provided. Students/tenants want to know if the properties Dr. Schartz rents are actually save to live in.

We've looked at lots of rental properties for my kids and the guy from Powelton Properties was the most helpful - he seemed really interested in making a good fit for us.
Please, whatever you do, DO NOT sign with Powelton Properties. I thought all these reviews were wrong as well, and it would be different from me, but after a year of living in a dirty, rat-infested apartment, I decided to call it quits and move somewhere else. No matter how nice you think the apartment is, it is not worth it. There are plenty of other places you can live, most much nicer and at a cheaper price.
ANY rental company in Philadelphia is better than this one! Do not be lured by low prices, because you will get what you pay for: unmaintained buildings, "maintenance" only in emergencies by completely unprofessional people, an office that thinks they're too good to have a phone that they actually answer (all calls go automatically to voicemail). The other reviews are absolutely correct! There people don't even deserve one star. The most unprofessional and rude people I have ever rented from. Jesse in the office is the worst! Extremely unprofessional uses profanity and lies. The apartment was filthy and had mice and roaches. They wouldn't fix anything or take responsibility for anything. Even after formal complaints to the city were filed! Do not rent from these people! They should not be allowed to manage properties!!
Do not , I REPEAT DO NOT, for God Sakes rent from Powelton Properties. They have to be the most UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, AND LEAST HELPFUL company or people I have ever dealt with. They take FULLY ADVANTAGE of college students and charge them with anything they can, that is inconvenient to them . I have never in my entire life felt as disrespected as by this team of garbage workers which is pretty sad because they are supposed to make your living arrangements as easy as possible.
