Do not recommend at all. My husband had his routine colonoscopy with Dr Pau. They convinced him to get the 'Premium' package. $165 out of pocket right off the bat. Then they told him 'if' he needed a clip, it could be $200 but there almost zero chance that would happen. Waited 45 minutes past appointment time for procedure in a cold room - no blanket, nothing offered. After the procedure, informed that he needed 2 clips and we would be required to pay $400 before he was released. I asked if they ran it through our 2 INSURANC... read more

My OB-GYN contacted Dr. Pou for my 1st colonoscopy, 100% covered as "preventative screening". Dr. Pou's office called to set up appt for pre-screening. I sat with Dr. Pou answered questions. One was: Do I have a BM every day. No I don't. He said okay, your constipated. I said I am not. He also tried to upsell me a "better instrument that will find issues the standard instrument might miss, two smaller bottles of fluid to drink rather than a 'gallon of sea water' = less gas and discomfort after the procedure. Telling me my in... read more

This was the most unprofessional office I've ever seen. First, they moved and didn't alert me even though I had a consultation; they didn't even leave a sign on the door, and google maps were not updated. Then they "forgot" to tell me I needed a Covid test ahead of time (no mention of it in the paperwork) even though I assume this has been true for over a year, and then they claimed they had no way of knowing the fax with my prep stuff didn't go through even though a fax machine will let you know. They were rude and made exc... read more

This guy is the absolute worst! My primary care physician referred me to him for a specific issue. He and his assistant questioned me extensively why I was using him when I had previously used another gastroenterologist. He gave me, at best, one piece of widely-known advice and then said he couldn't help me. He then tried to examine me for an unrelated issue that I told him I was already under another doctor's care for. I left before he could do it. I would not otherwise say anything but I just learned he billed my insurance... read more

I was referred to Dr. Pou by Sherry Mongold, NP, who highly recommended him. I must say I agree! From the very first phone call, to leaving my procedure, I cannot sing enough high praises! Everyone was polite, helpful, informative, fun, professional, caring, and the list goes on... I could also detect a strong sense of teamwork, which makes the dream work! That is so very important in any situation, especially in the medical field, as that is where I have been for the last 42 years; so I have seen a lot! I also had a follow-... read more

Excellent care was given to me so I would be made comfortable. Very clean and staff and physician were friendly. I have had two other colonoscopies and they were in no comparison to the service I received at Shenandoah Valley Gastroenterology Center.

From start to finish I felt cared for, not just a number: from the easiness of scheduling the initial appointment with the doctor (within weeks) to the successful procedure and the follow up care. I left the building with a copy of the procedure report, one was faxed to my PCP that same day and my results were posted on my portal The staff goes out of their way to help every patient and the doctor is very thorough and made sure all my questions were answered. Hands down the best value and quality care in The Valley

I want to share my experience with Dr Pou. Dr Pou was kind, explained everything and results were waiting when I left the office. If you find yourself waiting, it is because the patients before you may have unexpected problems., be patient you will get the same great care when it’s your turn. This was the most comfortable colonoscopy I have ever had, the staff was patient and professional. Highly recommend this practice.
