They are not reliable, simply put. They do have a lot of excuses. Their time table is useless. If they are on an ESP plan God help you. I waited over two hours in Springfield in freezing rain then called an uber with a few ours.
RecommendedI will say if you are going to be riding from one of the lake ridge lots be prepared to wait. The lake ridge bus is the most inconsistent bus route of them all. You will see two or three dale city or Horner road buses before you see one lake ridge bus. Today I got to my destination to catch my “lake ridge” bus home at 4:15 to catch the 4:21 bus and I didn’t get on a lake ridge bus until 4:45. That is insane!
I would not recommend because they will leave their customers high and dry if the weather forecast (in the NCR calls for 1 inch of) snow.
I commute to DC every morning for work. I use the commuter bus to get to the Metro. I got on the bus this morning, there are 4 stops before the bus gets on 66. This morning, the driver sat at the fourth stop for 19 minutes. When asked why, the driver made an announcement that was part of the “new route” and will happen everyday. The buses never stop at Rt1 and Bel Aire Rd and Village Dr. There are signs and the drivers don't stop. The drivers that do stop are very few. (The ones that know the route.) Whether I'm getting on or off they just don't stop. They only stop where they see a bus shelter. But if its just a sign they don't stop and I'm standing there or I've pulled the cord. I really wish they would bring back Metro to Woodbridge. The service was better. They have people that understand English and provide customer service.

you guys need to get real time updates instead of having people wait and let them know what's going on. It makes no sense how the metro express is 45 mins late and you guys are still charging full price when I purposefully caught the early bus to the metro so I would not have to pay the extra 3 dollars during rush hour commute. I see that rptc does not care about there customers.
