The bad reviews are true and I gave them multiple tries to redeem themselves I could go on with the horror story but just don’t have time. Stay away.
UNLESS YOU WANT TO THROW MONEY AWAY DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE, THEY DID NOT REPAIR MY TRANSMISSION, AND IT TOOK OVER A MONTH TO GET MY UNIT BACK AND IT WASN'T EVEN FIXED.
Returned transmission after 3000 miles. Some radiator fluid leaked into transmission. PTP claimed unit was contaminated and they could do nothing with it. No credit towards another. My local transmission shop said PTP was washing hands w/unit. He said it could be cleaned and repaired. R/T shipping $450. Back where I stated but will fix unit locally. Do not recommend!
glad i read the reviews b4 i considered them to work on my transmission, my guess is I should run away fast!!!!....
Awful, paid $4000 and failed in 90 days would not honor the warranty. Owner is shady, wont return calls. Office Manager, Elizabeth, will say anything to get your $$$$$. I thought I was brighter than doing business with Portland Torque. Wish I had these reviews to read prior to paying 100% of the charge upfront. Will post on every site I can find to warn the public. The need a zero star rating.
CONSUMER ALERT STAY WAY!!!!
Please don't repeat my mistake. I purchased a transmission form them trying to save couple bucks since they are little cheaper. But came to find out that their warranty is as many people put here is as good as toilet paper. first transmission I bought broke down within 200 miles took it back they fixed it, installed it back on vehicle the first gear is not working. So far diagnostics and taking transmission out and back in cost around $1000, looks like I have another round of this garbage again another $1k. PTP are crooks. D... read more
I bought a transmission for my 1985 Bronco II and my mechanic over torqued a bolt and cracked the housing. We sent it back to PTP and they replaced the housing for cost of the housing. The transmission has worked Great for 5 years. The Bronco sat up several months waiting on a carburator. When we got it fixed the transmission wouldn't shift. I called Dave and he said check all your vacuum hoses. We did and one was split. Thanks Dave! Great Product! Great Support!
the worst company ive ever dealt with,we got a cvt trans from them.i have had to sent it back to them 5 times now. I keep getting the run around. Now it the cars fault. The last time we sent it back to them i was told they would replace the unit. So i marked the case halfs, and the converter i got the same unit back and the same converter. But they did have a nice paint job. I have been lied to. They tell you one thing and then do what ever they want, as long as it save them money. NEVER USE THEM.
