great food, poor service – I love the food at Pomelo, but the service is seriously lacking. The past two times my husband & I have visited the Noe Valley location, we have had to wait at least 15 minutes after finishing our meal to receive our bill, and then only after going out of our way to get the servers attention. Even worse, although we desperately tried to catch the waiters eye, he stubbornly refused to acknowledge our existence. On our last visit, our appetizer (the baby bok choy) never arrived. Dinner with the crew – I took my office team to this restaurant because of the ecelectic menu and everyone loved it. It is hard to please an eclectic mix of web developers. Thank you Pomelo.
Forbidden Fruit – Very nice experience, both for food and service. An interesting mix of flavors and textures, in a quiet, earthy setting.
Good neighborhood find – Pomelo is a great neighborhood find. It is small, generally quiet, and the food prices are reasonable. Entrees are generally between $8-10. I ordered the Kandy, a chicken curry dish, and it fed me for two meals. The wait staff is extremely helpful and courteous. I was a single diner the other night and they made sure to seat me by a great people watching window and they brought the food out very promptly. Brunch here is good, too.
