Polker's service is TERRIBLE! – admitted, the burger here are really tasty... but the waiters/waitresses there are consistently rude and service is quite slow, even on a weekday.

not worth it – Though the food is pretty decent, I'd only take it to go. The servers were so rude, it was shocking. I ended up waiting for an hour and a half for a table and watched as five parties who had arrived after me were seated ahead of me. The waitresses kept saying I was "next" and that they had "forgotten" about my group - though they were completely unappologetic and continued to call parties after mine, despite me reminding them that I was "next". Cheap Eats in the Neighborhood – I eat here fairly regularly and have always had above average service and great food. You can't get a better burger and fries in this neighborhood at this price. There tends to be a rather long wait for brunch on the weekends so try to dine at non-peak hours, but there is almost never a wait for dinner.

Very bad service – The service here is consistently very bad. Last night there was a two waitstaffers working and they spent most of the evening talking with each other and very little time serving food or taking orders. The waiter for our table was rude and slow. I watched our food sit at the warming station for ten minutes while our waiter was laughing and talking with the waitress.

Great value! – We eat at Polkers quite often. Yes, you have to stay on top of the list when waiting outside. Yes, sometimes the service is slow. Never have people been rude -- just rushed. The value, however, is unbeatable. Give this place a try!

Heaping Plates of Rudeness – This is one of the most unworthy restaurants in all of SF. I have lived here for over 10 years and have always been willing to give a place a chance - beyond my better judgement. I have never been treated so poorly. After waiting in line for over 45 minutes, they crossed our name off the list without calling our name and told us that we had to resign at the bottom of the ever growing list - with a sidelong glance and a smirk. They're wrong about the service – Polkers service has been getting poor reviews, but I've had quite the opposite experience. I meet my friends they're after happy hour on Fridays, and the waitresses, Lucy and Luanne, have been so kind to us. They've taken the time to learn all our names and know what we want before we even order. If you go expecting a 5 course ellegant meal, you'll be disappointed, but Polker IS exactly what it claims to be: a delicious gourmet burger.
