I have seen Dr. Pointon for more than 15 years. In the past two years, her practice has gone downhill like you wouldn’t believe. You can no longer get to see her. They have issues with insurance with the PA. They never answer their phone or return phone calls I’ve never seen anything like this practice and I’m looking for a new dermatologist!!!
Dr was friendly enough at my first visit, but did not seem thorough. I showed her a script I’d need filled in a few months. She said no problem, to call when needed. I called a few months later and had to argue with staff who insisted I needed an office visit to get the script. I insisted they talk with doctor who told me I could just call. The staff called back and agreed to have script called in to my pharmacy. When I went to pharmacy, the wrong script had been called in. Full body exam. I have needed a dermatologist for many years. Explained everything and was very professional! I am new to the area and are Very happy to have her as my dermatologist.
This was my first visit. She took the time to get to know me and my medical history. She was very through and very nice!! I scheduled my next checkup!
Compared to other dermatologists Dr. Pointon basically sucked. I never felt like I was getting the attention I needed while on the most extreme medication, accutane. I had dermatitis & she misdiagnosed it saying it was only a dry spot and she can't give me a steroid for it (it got worse). My next dermatologist was confused by this & immediately gave me medication for it. I always felt like there were loose ends & my questions were never fully answered, always in a rush. Definitely not the best.
I had been to several dermatologist before being recommended by a friend to Dr. Catherine Pointon approximately 6 years ago. She has a very caring and professional bedside manner. Makes you feel very comfortable and is very thorough during your appointments/visits with her. I am blessed to have found the right Dermatologist for my condition. Highly recommend her!

Dr. Pointon did a good job while I visited but the follow through has been the worse I have ever experienced. They took a week to send prescription. When they finally sent it, the pharmacy doesn't mail it to my state. Great job on thoroughness. Jennifer was responsible for this. I called told her first thing in the morning and she said she would call me back. She never called back. It has now been 16 days since my visit and still no medicine for my condition. Jennifer needs a new line of work.
Excellent physician. Very thorough. I trust and like her very much.
